I wrote this nearly two years ago and, now, putting it on this new blog. I hope you enjoy it. Anyway....
A great way to start October 2015 was being asked to come a long to Tetv1, to see new talent... Music, comedy, poetry, painting and spoken words. Well what happened is I was at a networking event, a few days before, and made some new friends then one guy asked me to come a long and meet some of his friends and see some new talent and I said 'YES'.
There were 3 acts that stood out to the crowd. Who are still very memorable, to me, till this day. Two young ladies performing together as one was speaking spoken words whilst the other was painting. The next act was a comedian, who was hilariously funny. It wasn't just me who was laughing, the whole audience joined in. Later a fabulous beatboxer, I explain it as an art of turning the voice into an entire drum kit with bass and vocal lines, got up and performed. He seriously blew me away. I was shocked because you don't hear that everyday.
I was there too early, as usual. The event hadn't even started but the DJ was mixing those tunes up. Whilst I was waiting the photographer and I got talking about how Tetv1 got started and how it has progressed to what it is now.
The first act of the night was a young female guitarist and the crowd were so supportive. Another young lady, wearing an African print dress, sang songs acoustically in an African language, which one I'm not sure. The next guy got my attention, because he asked me 'you, you, what are you drinking?', the audience laughed and I said 'water'. He's like 'yeah me too' then he was grooving, doing his thing, which was RnB and soul.
I didn't want to leave so soon because the beatboxer was excellent but public transport was calling me as it was 10.30pm by then.
The night was still going on but I had a good time with my friends.
